Our Programs

Sunday - Service of Worship - 9:30 a.m.

After the worship service each Sunday, we have an opportunity for fellowship and refreshments downstairs in Fellowship Hall.

Many willing volunteers participate in various ways, such as leading a hymn sing every Sunday before the service, lay readers, arranging for fellowship time following our Sunday services, running the elevator, and as ushers.

Music Ministry at Zion is founded on the strength of its Senior Choir (accompanied by a grand piano and cassavant organ). From this solid foundation it has grown to include a men's chorus, youth ensembles, children's church choirs and solo/family ensemble numbers from our talented and versatile congregation. Dedication of its many participants continues to help this ministry thrive.

Handbell Choirs are a new part of our music ministry at Zion. Thursday evenings are filled with fun and laughter as the bells chime sacred music. Handbell Choirs are available to both adults and children.

Our Children's Church is held every Sunday during morning worship and provides  a very hands-on, spiritual program, with opportunities at various times throughout the year to participate in worship services.  Many volunteers from the congregation are involved in this program.

Our Youth Group meets every other Friday from 7 - 9:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  All are welcome!  Become a member of Zion United Youth Group's Facebook page:

Confirmation Classes for both youth and adults are held as need arises, usually a youth class one year and an adult class the next year.

Study Groups are formed from time to time as interest is expressed.

Zion boasts an active United Church Women's group (UCW) that meets monthly on Tuesday evenings for a program. They contribute to the church and community in many ways. They donate to a number of groups and organizations -  local, national and world wide. Volunteers from UCW provide lunches after funerals, etc. if requested by the family.

We have a very strong and active Missions Committee that is well supported by the congregation.  In addition to contributing to The United Church of Canada Mission and Service fund, our Missions committee supports a number of groups both local and world wide including:

Successful fundraisers have included:  scrap metal collection, pancake suppers, annual fish fry, Change the World coin collection.

Our facilities are also used by other churches in the community for Lenten Lunches, by  Aldaview for monthly cooking classes and Community Care Concepts for monthly dinners for elderly citizens.

YOUTH PIE AUCTION

Anniversaries, weddings, retirements, etc. are celebrated at our church. Not only do these events strengthen relationships amongst members, but also strengthen ties between the Zion family and the larger community.
