Welcome to Our Church

With a desire to protect the health of our members, the capacity of our health care system, and to minimize COVID-19 spread, all events and Sunday worship services at Zion will be virtual. Please connect with us on our YouTube channel.

We are called together by Christ
as a community of hopeful...believers,
loving what he loved,
living what he taught,
striving to be faithful servants of God
in our time and place.

(from A Song of Faith, United Church of Canada)

We acknowledge that we worship on the traditional territory of the Anishinabe, the Mississauga of the New Credit, and Attiwonderonk Nations, on land that was subject to Treaty 3 an area also known as the Between the Lakes Purchase.
We give thanks for these nations and for the people today who share and care for the land and its resources.

What We Believe

Zion United Church is a congregation of The United Church of Canada. Within the United Church, and within each congregation, we find a broad spectrum of theological perspectives, which is one of the strengths of the denomination that lives its faith by embracing diversity.

Covid-19 Update

After careful consideration, our Leadership Council has determined that the building will remain closed until further notice. Although we know it is difficult for some not to meet in person, our priority remains the health and safety of everyone at this time. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. Please worship with us online by clicking the link at the top of our masthead.

FOOD PANTRY: Thanks to our Caring Team, Zion has a new Food Pantry at the front of our church. Anyone in the community who is in need of its offering is welcome to take what you need and be blessed. Please contact the church if you would like to volunteer to monitor and stock the pantry for a week!

BOTTLE DRIVE TO SUPPORT CAMP BIMINI:  Held on June 26th from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm in our parking lot at Zion United Church.  Accepting empty beer bottles and cans, wine bottles, bladders, and tetra packs, cooler and liquor bottles.

COMMUNITY VOICES FORUM: The Prime Ministers Path and Sir John A. MacDonald statue have been the focus of significant controversy in Wilmot. The First Peoples Group (FPG) has been retained by the township to undertake a public engagement about these installations. Since the FPG wants all voices to be heard, different strategies have been designed to reach as many people as possible. Everyone who cares about Wilmot needs to respond to a survey that the FPG has created. There are a number of ways to access the survey. Go to on the township website https://www.wilmot.ca/en/living-here/prime-ministers-path-public-engagement.aspx and click the “Community Voices Forum”, contact moc.puorgselpoeptsrif@ydissac or call the township at 519-634-8444 to obtain a paper copy. Focused conversations are being planned in addition to gathering feedback from the survey. Biweekly updates about the engagement process will be posted on the township website. The Wilmot Ecumenical Working Group on Indigenous/Settler Issues feels that participating in these activities is an important step towards reconciliation. It provides an opportunity for conversations that, hopefully, will lead to increased awareness and understanding.  Contact Dorothy Wilson at 519-662-9372 if you have any questions.
