CHURCH NEWS
Message from the Praising Team
Summer worship services will be held at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall during July and for the last two Sundays in August. A summary of the format is below.
July 2022:
• Sunday worship services will be in-person only, with Rev. Maggie presiding
• Hymn books and a green sheet will be available in place of computer-projected text.
• The Praising Team is seeking one volunteer to read scripture and one usher for each service.
August 2022:
• While Rev. Maggie is on vacation from August 4 to 24, there will be pastoral care coverage provided.
• For Sunday, August 7 and Sunday, August 14, Zion will not be open. Pre-recorded worship services prepared by participating local United churches will be uploaded to Zion's YouTube channel for Sunday morning viewing.
• On August 21, Zion will open for in-person only worship in Fellowship Hall. Zion will welcome a guest minister at this service.
• On August 28, Zion will open for in-person worship in Fellowship Hall. A pre-recorded service will be viewed, which will be posted on Zion’s YouTube page. Rev. Maggie will be present at this service, having just returned from vacation.
• The Praising Team is seeking one volunteer to read scripture and one usher for each service for the August 21 and August 28 services.
During times of in-person gatherings, these Covid 19 protocols will be in place for your safety: masking, physical distancing, hand sanitizer, and open windows for ventilation.
For those of you who have been enjoying virtual worship from the comfort of your home, please be encouraged to select from a number of previously recorded Sunday services found on Zion’s YouTube channel (tinyurl.com/zionunited), or virtually visit another community of faith of your choice.
The Praising Team wishes to express their gratitude to the Zion community of faith for your encouragement and support during the many Covid-19 challenges and pivots. Our prayer is that each one of you experience a summer filled with God’s rest and renewal.
